Mr. Simon Fisher, a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal (UGI) and General Surgeon, is leading the establishment of a regional centre at New Cross Hospital focused on complex pancreatitis, gallbladder, and bile duct diseases, catering to the West Midlands and West Country regions. Additionally, he serves as the Regional Programme Director for Surgical Training in these areas. His private practice extends to Nuffield Health Tettenhall in Wolverhampton.

Within his NHS consultant surgeon practice, Mr. Fisher specialises in both Oesophagogastric (Stomach and Oesophagus) and Hepatobiliary (Liver, Gallbladder, Pancreas, and Spleen) conditions. He also manages a substantial hernia repair practice and provides Interventional Endoscopy and Emergency Surgery services.

Mr. Fisher graduated from Cambridge University in 1999 and pursued his PhD at the University of London. He completed his basic surgical training in Cambridge and underwent specialist surgical training on the South West Rotation. He further honed his expertise with a year at the Birmingham Liver Unit and a Fellowship year at the Liverpool Liver Unit, working under esteemed experts in the field.

His clinical practice encompasses a wide range of conditions and treatments, including laparoscopic cholecystectomy and bile duct exploration for gallbladder and gallstone disease, laparoscopic antireflux surgery for oesophageal conditions, and various types of hernia repair (laparoscopic and open). Mr. Fisher also specialises in component separation abdominal wall repair/reconstruction and treats diseases of the liver, pancreas, stomach, and spleen.
