Mr. Maitrey Darrad, graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine (London) in 2007. He pursued surgical training in London, followed by seven years of specialised training in urology across Yorkshire & Humberside and the West Midlands.

Currently, a consultant at University Hospitals Birmingham, Dr. Darrad is among the highest volume urinary tract stone disease surgeons in the UK. He annually performs over 60 miniaturised and conventional keyhole surgeries (PCNL) for complex renal stones, over 100 ureteroscopic laser stone surgeries, and more than 200 shockwave lithotripsy procedures. Additionally, he offers comprehensive metabolic evaluations to prevent urinary tract stone disease recurrence.

Mr. Darrad's expertise also extends to benign prostate enlargement, and haematuria (blood in the urine). Additionally, he is highly skilled in managing urinary tract infections, bladder issues, scrotal swellings, and adult circumcisions.

Mr. Darrad's contributions to the field have been recognised with awards, including the British Association of Urological Surgeons’ endourology travelling scholarship and the World Congress of Endourology's fellowship.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr. Darrad is dedicated to education and mentorship. He is a leading tutor for urologists seeking expertise in minimally invasive kidney stone surgery and serves as the lead chair of the interventional urology advisory board for medical education at Coloplast and spearheads the clinical urology training program for senior medical students at Birmingham Medical School.
