I was recommended Mr Darrad by a doctor friend of mine in London. I was told he specialised in kidney stones and came with excellent credentials. From my first point of contact with his secretary Joanne Cunningham, I was impressed by her organisation skills, collating all my scans, X-rays, and operation notes from Inverness and Shrewsbury. When I saw Mr Darrad at my OPD, he had all my clinical notes and scans which he had reviewed prior to my consultation. He immediately put me at ease and I felt fully confident in his care. Options and choices were given to me, he then advised me what he felt was the best way forward. I obviously took his advice as he was the specialist, a date was then arranged for my surgery. On the day of surgery, Mr Darrad visited me prior and post surgery reassuring me beforehand and, post-operation, explaining all had gone very well. The anaesthetist was excellent and put me at great ease prior to surgery, he was extremely calming in the anaesthetic room and I woke up completely pain-free. I have worked for many years as a senior nurse in the private sector and I can truly confirm that the service I had from all areas was exemplary - a very satisfied grateful patient!
