Mr Arun qualified in 1996 in India before gaining a research degree on tumour marker in colorectal cancer at The University of Leicester.

His Higher General Surgical Training was on the Mid Trent Surgical Rotation, Nottingham a training centre for Laparoscopic Colorectal surgery and colorectal surgery. Mr Arun was a consultant at Neville Hall Hospital in Abergavenny for 12 years from 2008. He has been a Consultant Surgeon at Wye Valley NHS Trust Hereford County Hospital since 2020 and practices privately at Nuffield Health Private Hospital.

Mr. Arun is a highly skilled surgeon with a specialisation in colorectal surgery, which covers various aspects of colorectal health and gastrointestinal procedures. His expertise includes colorectal cancer surgery, laparoscopic colorectal surgery, and a range of endoscopy procedures, such as upper GI endoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy. In addition to his colorectal and gastrointestinal expertise, he performs laparoscopic inguinal and incisional hernia repair, as well as open hernia surgery.

Mr. Arun is a member of several medical organisations, including the Association of Coloproctologists of Great Britain and Ireland, the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, the Medical Defence Union, and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
